3Pines is a 3-piece acoustic jam-grass string-band based out of Northwest Arkansas, with a passion for creating and performing original songs. Our music is driven by fast picking, deep grooves, improvisational jams, and heartfelt lyrics with harmonius vocals. We strive to create a unique musical experience with every show.
Newly formed in Spring of 2022, the band is made up of: Travis Duncan (guitar / mandolin), J.C. Kaufman (bass), and Alex Cogbill (mandolin / guitar).
Travis and J.C. grew up together in Decatur, AR as childhood friends, and have been playing music together since high school. In 2005, they met Alex, a Fort Smith native who moved to Fayetteville to attend U of A, at a North Mississippi All-Stars show at George’s Majestic Lounge. They became fast friends, each recognizing an undeniable musical kinship with each other. Near the beginning of 2022, through years of playing music together, they had developed enough original songs to start playing shows in the Northwest Arkansas area, and the band 3Pines was formed.
