Loneliness is a health risk. 1 in 5 Americans experience loneliness daily. That can lead to serious mental and physical health outcomes.
Gotahold Brewing is committed to providing opportunities to combat loneliness. We have music weekly and we’ve added additional opportunities to gather from art shows, to classes, game nights and a monthly bingo party.
There is also something really interesting that happens. We see it all the time. We have a fair number of locals who are regulars. They often help us answer questions about what’s going on around town, where to eat, etc. Conversations strike up. New friendships are formed.
We see total strangers overhear another conversation or someone comments on another guests dog and suddenly new conversations emerge that lead to new friendships. Once, two couples started talking and realized they live two blocks from one another outside of Kansas City. They exchanged numbers and made plans to meet up once they returned home. We have many similar stories like that.
One of our favorite places to sit is around the fire pit, event when it isn’t fire pit season because there are always extra chairs and people join in, new conversations begin, and the rest is pure Eureka Magic.
Even on the slowest days, there is always a beertender to talk with.
Challenge yourself to attending at least one event a week, meeting a friend or making a new acquaintance, learning something new for the next 30 days. We’ll be here to help.
