We have a unique vantage point to observe people – both from near and far – from our little brewery. Over the past five years, we’ve met so many people. We’ve befriended many. What we’ve come to realize in a country so politically divided, it that we all have far more in common than most people realize.
Time and time again, people tell our team how special of a place Gotahold is for them. Sure, the beer is great, but not all of them are drinking beer. Certainly, the beer forest has it’s own magic, but we hear it in the dead of winter, too. There is a calm here, an acceptance, and a lot of Love.
There is an interesting phenomenon that happens here, too, where people leave with new friends they met in the taproom or beer forest. Part of that is we have really friendly guest, many of whom are helpful locals always willing to ambassador our town. The other part is pure Eureka Magic, something that brings people together in very special, unique ways. We need more togetherness right now. We need more kindness, more curiosity, more willingness to be surprised (and even delighted).
We are at a threshold in time. A new year,. A new month. A new quarter. More than that we are at a threshold for our planet, basic human rights and dignity, resources.
It feels like every week we hear of another brewery closing. Less people are drinking. People are socializing less. Too many people are struggling to make ends meet, going out for a craft beer is a luxury.
So many thresholds.
Our aim is to be that safe space where you can go and set down your troubles for a bit. Listen to some live music or enjoy some local art. Meet some friends or hangout and read a book. Make some new friends. Drink a beer or a soda, just come hangout. Need a hug, just ask.
We are crafting experiences that are free to join as well as a few paid experiences to bring people together at our threshold for some fun, sanctuary, belonging. We’re also developing our nonalcoholic options to serve those who don’t drink, because everyone is welcome regardless of where you are on this life journey. We look forward to seeing you.
